Began to assemble pieces of hardware for Type-O this evening.  I’m still waiting on a few parts but I have enough on-hand that I should be able to wire-up a few things if only temporarily and start making progress on the firmware.

I also started to flesh-out the repository and began a project-specific journal as well.  I find this to be particularly helpful for capturing things like code snippets, commands and other little bits that are too terse to publish in a post like this but essential reference in the event that I’m away from the project for awhile (or need to back-track after taking a bad path).

So far most of the work has been mapping pins from the microcontroller to the peripherals (keyboard, display, etc.) and it looks like I’ll have just enough pins to do everything I need to with even a couple left over for future use.

With any luck I’ll get to spend a little more time on it over the weekend and maybe even have some results to share.  I’m also looking forward to working on the models for the 3d printed parts and would love to get some first runs in before it’s time to go back to work next week.
